  Pedra Mística  written in 1994 by Borges-Cunha and premiered by the OSPA in 1999, conducted by Manfredo Schmiedt. The work, which was released on CD in 2000, is based on a poem by the Goiás-born writer Libério Neves, which expresses different stages of evolution—from birth to ramifications to decay—and evokes religious symbolism. Inspired by the organization of Neves’s own poem, the composer provides the audience with a spatial experience of the music.
