ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The soprano from Rieti, together with the members of the “Rieti Opera Ensemble” – a lyrical/vocal group born this year on the occasion of the opening concert of the “Mattia Battistini” competition – will give life to an exciting event which will suggestively intertwine the Christmas tradition with the world of opera. The first part will in fact be dedicated to a reduced-format transposition – readjusted for the occasion – of the “story” par excellence of the festive period, namely the unforgettable “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, expressed in five paintings.
The story of the miserly Scrooge will be accompanied by some of the most beautiful duets of the Italian and international operatic tradition, with pieces taken from Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” and “La Traviata”, Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffmann” and the “Barbiere of Seville” by Rossini.
