Late at night a junior doctor, Thomas, attends a patient in an unknown ward. They are an outlier.
He arrives home later to his girlfriend Rachel, but his mind is lost in the events of the night.
Made in response to interviews with a wide range of medical professionals this piece explores guilt and culpability in the NHS and shines a spotlight on the life changing decisions medics make in challenging circumstances.
This opera, written by up and coming composer Josh Kaye, and directed by the award winning Alex Howarth, will feature Rachel Sampley’s innovative lighting and video design, which will immerse the audience in the world of the NHS and the mind of a highly stressed junior doctor.
