ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Inspired by the Brothers Grimm’s tale “The Town Musicians of Bremen ,” the story of “Os Saltimbancos” revolves around four animals who decide to escape their owners’ mistreatment to form a musical group. The quartet will be performed by young singers Daniel Schilling , Maitê Ely , João Boff , and Pablo Pinho . Alongside them, a 70-voice children’s choir from the Children’s and Youth Choirs of the OSPA School and the Anchieta Musical Show also brings the work to life, under the stage direction of Carol Braga and accompanying the OSPA, conducted by Manfredo Schmiedt . The choral arrangement is by Renato Filippini, adapted by Cristiane Ferronato, and the orchestral arrangement is by Geremias Freitas.
The performance also brings to southern Brazil for the first time a classical symphonic work designed for children: Tubby the Tuba , by George Kleinsinger , starring a tuba player who dreams of playing melodies. The solos are performed by OSPA tuba player Wilthon Matos , while the narration is provided by Simone Rasslan
