The saga of the African people inspires the show “Black Pop Opera”.
The production, directed by Isidoro Diniz with music by Ivo Lessa, blends classical and popular elements, combining classical piano with pop songs, Afro-Brazilian percussion and rap, among others. The musical narrative retraces the history of Africans through popular Brazilian and North American songs that make up the repertoire, performed by actresses.
