  Òpera en texans  (Opera in Jeans) was a program on Televisió de Catalunya presented by Ramon Gener in which opera is explained and analyzedin a fun and informal way. Each program is dedicated to a different opera where it is analyzed and guidelines are given to be able to understand it.  It premiered on channel 33 with the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet on October 2, 2011. The third season ended with an average share of 2.9%.

  The program was awarded the Zapping 2011 awards granted by the Telespectadors Associats de Catalunya (TAC) in the category of best cultural program.  It was also nominated in 2012 in the ARC awards in the category of best musical program.  It was later bought by RTVE (2015) who re-edited about 30 episodes under the name “This Is Opera” and broadcast them on the thematic culture channel of the Spanish public television, La 2.
