There were around 70 singers, including soloists and choristers, and 70 musicians who participated in the program, which opened with the Overture (from the opera La forza del destino, by Giuseppe Verdi), by the Orchestra.
Then, he continued with the prodigious Gypsy Chorus (from the opera Il trovatore, by Giuseppe Verdi); the aria Una furtiva lágrima (from Elísir d’amore, by Gaetano Donizetti), in which the voice of Leonardo Sánchez stood out, while José Adán Pérez drew ovations with his interpretation of Largo at factótum (from El barbero de Sevilla, by Gioachino Rossini ), to close the choir and orchestra with the Choir a boca chiusa (from Madame Butterfly, by Giacomo Puccini).
It continued with a beautiful performance by Leticia de Altamirano and Rosa Muñoz, from the duo Sous le dome épais (from the opera Lakmé, by Leo Delibes), then the soprano sang Ebben! Ne andro lontana (from La Wally, by Alfredo Catalini), while the Orchestra and the mezzo-soprano Rosa Muñoz performed the Intermezzo and Ave Maria (from Cavallería rusticana, by Pietro Mascagni), to close the first part with the famous Va pensiero (by Verdi’s Nabucco).
The second part opened with the Prelude (from Carmen, by Georges Bizet); Rosa Muñoz then sings the Habanera and follows the baritone Adan Pérez with the verses of the Toreador, Votre toast, je peux vous le rendre (from Carmen), and closes the section on the opera Carmen with the Choir and Les voici, voici la quadrille .
The tenor Leonardo Sánchez surprised again with the famous aria Nessun dorma (from Turandot), and the choir sang the equally famous Toast: Libiamo (from La traviata, by Verdi).
They sang two pieces from zarzuela: Carceleras (from Las hijas de Zebedeo, by Ruperto Chapí), by Leticia de Altamirano, and What does it matter to you that he doesn’t come (from Los claveles, by José Serrano), by Rosa Muñoz and they began to say goodbye with some Mexican song, when the four soloists sing together Mía (by Manuel Esperón) and Granada (by Agustín Lara), by the tenor Leonardo Sánchez and then the intensity of the applause, which preceded the two encores they had prepared: Tell me yes ( by Esparza Oteo) with everyone, and the Alleluia, by Handel, with chorus included, which was the apotheosis, amid applause and cheers.
