The first concert includes Telemann’s gorgeous seasonal cantatas for Advent 1, Advent 2, Advent 3 and Christmas 3 as well as Heinrich Biber’s Sonata No. 1 in d minor for violin and basso continuo, ’The Annunciation’, from the ‘Mystery’ or ‘Rosary’ Sonatas (ca. 1674).
The second concert features expressive Telemann cantatas, these for Christmas 1, the Sunday after Christmas, New Year’s Day and the Sunday after Christmas Day. Also on the program will be Telemann’s Fantasia No. 1 in Bb Major for solo violin, TWV 40:14 (1735).
