This is one of the worst if not the worst performance of the French version of Rossini’s Mose. Horrible, all the cast is just beyond the music’s requests. Pertusi is voiceless and wobbly old, Sampetrean sounds like a tenor, throaty and overwhelmed Berzhanskaya is not even a mezzo, both tenors are catastrophic, it seems in the final two Acts that Pati wouldn’t survive till the opera’s end, he was totally without any voice. De Bique likes pushing and has problems with high notes, but in comparision with her partners she sounds million times better, Mariotti is not bad, but Italian Rossini he makes much better. Disaster.
