ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Mila Gojsalić is a historical musical drama in three parts with a prologue by the Croatian composer Jakov Gotovac , for which the libretto based on his own poem of the same name was prepared by Danko Angjelinović . Gotovac – as well as Angjelinovic – was especially inspired by the legend of the young Mila Gojsalic , who in 1530 bravely sacrificed her life for the freedom of Poljica in the fight against the Turkish invaders.
Gotovac’s Mila Gojsalic is one of the three great Croatian heroic operas , a kind of successor to Lisinski’s Porinand Zajc Zrinjski .(Visited 370 times, 1 visits today)
