The story of the biblical oratorio Messiah following the most important stages of the Redeemer’s life will be connected with episodes of the life of the founders of the Baroque Theater in Český Krumlov and the Bellaria summer house in the castle park. The space around this historical monument and the surrounding nature in authentic light illumination will take us back to the times when the oratorio was created in England, and when the ruling Schwarzenberg family of Krumlov fostered various theatrical activities.
This original directorial concept was created and the production staged by the artistic director of the South Bohemian Theater Opera, Tomáš Ondřej Pilař, who is one of the sought-after specialists for large open-air stage projects in our country and abroad.
