In the spring of 1981, one of Greater Copenhagen’s biggest amateur theatres, THORVALDSENTEATRET, staged “Masquerade”. Originally a comedy by Ludvig Holberg from 1724. Rewritten as an opera with music by Carl Nielsen and libretto by Vilhelm Andersen with premiere in 1906.
This performance borrows a bit from both versions.
