ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
How does an eighteen-year-old girl, Mária Lebstück, dreaming of love, become a lieutenant in the Hungarian hussars of the 1848 War of Independence? What happens when we mix wonderful music and songs, thrilling dances and lots of humor with her adventurous life path, permeated by the intoxication of the 1848 Revolution, its faith and the never-ending desire for freedom? Jenő Huszka and László Szilágyi’s historically inspired operetta at the Budapest Operetta Theatre presents the story full of twists and turns in two acts with youthful vigor, from the outbreak of the Vienna Revolution to the Hungarian War of Independence.
