ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Luis Mariano was given the nickname “The Prince of Operetta.
” “The Beauty of Cadiz,” “Andalusia,” “The Singer of Mexico,” “The Secret of Marco Polo,” “The Song of My Love,” “Visa for Love,” “The Prince of Madrid,” “The Knights of Heaven,” and “The Golden Caravel” were the nine major titles he developed, primarily in collaboration with his favorite composer, Francis López. A nickname, therefore, more than justified.
But Luis Mariano was not only an operetta star. He was above all a charming singer, with all the attributes: a velvet voice, a pleasing appearance, a dazzling smile, an exquisite dancer… He spoke several languages, designed his own sets and costumes…
Some of his most emblematic songs are heard on our stage, such as “Mama la más bella del mundo”, “Violetas Imperiales”, “Aurtxo Seaskan”, “Nube de Verano”, “Dama de España”, “Buenas noches mi amor”, “Maite”, “Luna de Miel”, “Al otro lado del mar”, “Aquella rosa”, “Mis noches sin ti” or the famous “C’est Magnifique”…
