The Promise (Löftet in Swedish) is the story of Ava who is separated from her husband Teo in a concentration camp. Determined to see her husband again after the war, she travels through the ruins of a traumatized Europe in search of him. We accompany them on a journey that oscillates between dream and reality, hope and despair. January 27 is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the Royal Swedish Opera pays tribute to the victims with a new commissioned work from composer Mats Larsson Gothe. (Quote OperaVision)
