Paris in the 1920s was the centre of the artistic world, and hub of cutting-edge music, ballet, literature, painting, photography and architecture. Artists and writers flocked to Paris from all over the world, including Ernest Hemingway, Picasso, Salvadore Dali, James Joyce, Isadora Duncan, Stravinsky and Les Ballets Russes, and Marc Chagall. This concert, featuring readings from contemporary sources and video projections, paints a picture of the decade during which the city of Paris sought solace from the traumas of the Great War and gave birth to an outpouring of decadence and artistic experimentation.
