ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Synopsis:
On a beautiful spring day, a falcon named Pellegrino flies happily over the Strait of Messina at dawn and sees a colorful bridge connecting the two shores. After a few seconds, the bridge suddenly disappears. Pellegrino decides to investigate and turns to the mermaids, who do not believe him but advise him to ask the inhabitants of the strait. The falcon first meets Scylla, the six-headed monster who terrorizes sailors crossing the two shores of the strait, then Charybdis, who causes the whirlpools and currents of this beautiful stretch of sea, and finally Colapesce, a boy who has become half man and half fish and supports on his shoulder the column that holds up the city of Messina. At sunset on the same day, the bridge reappears, leaving Pellegrino and the mermaids speechless. The mystery is revealed when Fata Morgana emerges from the sea. With a nice ‘April Fool’s joke’, Fata Morgana and all the other characters were having fun creating a bridge made of light effects to fool all the inhabitants of Sicily and Calabria. Pellegrino, also amused, flies away, singing blissfully between Scylla and Charybdis, greeted by the mermaids, Colapesce, and Fata Morgana.
