Raise your glass for a toast to the immortal opera classic La Traviata in a superb new staging at the Monte Carlo Opera, featuring a five-star cast including Aida Garifullina, Javier Camarena, and Massimo Cavalletti!
In this production by Jean-Louis Grinda, soprano star Aida Garifullina brings to life the character of Violetta Valéry, a courtesan who gives up her life in Paris to live with the bourgeois Alfredo Germont (a role in which Javier Camarena makes his long-awaited debut!). She flees without revealing why, which leads Alfredo to believe she has found a new beau—and by the time he learns the truth, it is too late: Violetta, stricken with tuberculosis, dies in his arms…
