ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
HIGHLIGHT AT THE HEART OF BRETON LEGENDS
A pianist and composer with a rich career, well-known on the jazz and classical scenes, Jean-Marie Machado loves the voice above all else. Without a chapel, he composes for traditional singing, song, chamber music and dance. With La Falaise des lendemains which brings together on stage 26 artists, musicians and lyrical singers, he signs his first opera.
Presentation
La Falaise des lendemains mixes passion and amorous violence on the Breton coast, from Roscoff to Guernsey. In this realistic tale, an epic that crosses the terrible conflict of the Great War, Jean-Jacques Fdida has incorporated fantastic and legendary aspects.
Inhabiting the stage with their presence, on an equal footing with the singers, the Danzas orchestra and its multitude of timbres become the landscape of the opera and occupy the decor in Jean Lacornerie’s staging. An event all the rarer as the opera brilliantly mixes languages: French, Breton and English.
