With inspiration from his own time as a poor student, Giacomo Puccini portrays with warmth and passion the lives of some young dreamers, the bohemians of 19th-century Paris. The famous tenor, director and conductor José Cura lets a Nordic light shine over Puccini’s masterpiece and moves La bohème from Paris to a fictional Stockholm. The writer Rodolfo becomes August Strindberg, the painter Marcello becomes Edvard Munch, the philosopher Colline becomes Søren Kierkegaard, the composer Schaunard becomes Edvard Grieg and the cabaret singer Musetta becomes Tulla Larsen.
