  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

Celebrated in more than 190 countries every year since 1970, Earth Day on April 22 reminds us of our condition as humans and inhabitants of our irreplaceable planet, as well as our interdependence with the living species around us.

France Télévisions is mobilized daily around environmental and climate issues and the urgent need to preserve our Earth, its biodiversity, and its resources.

When the Earth is suffering and ecosystems are damaged and endangered, it is essential to raise awareness among our audiences about their preservation. Our linear channels and our france.tv and Lumni platforms are supporting Earth Day by offering special programming of interest to all generations.

2050. The heat is crushing the world.
Humans are counting on the help of a human-like artificial intelligence to save them.
The Palace of Versailles has become a haven of coolness for the privileged. Bohemians have taken refuge there, trying to survive…

Puccini’s La Bohème is a major piece in the operatic repertoire. Known worldwide, it speaks of youth, destitution, love, and friendship in a bygone Paris where people struggle to keep warm.

La Bohème 2050 is marked by our contemporary challenges, those of global warming. It aims to take opera off the stage, to showcase its power and beauty, and to become a highly relevant audiovisual work that will reach new audiences.

We invited young engineers to take La Bohème and make it a work of anticipation, an opera of the future that tells the story of a world turned upside down by global warming and the omnipresence of technology.
