ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The Goose of Cairo is an unfinished comic opera by W.A. Mozart which was written between the abduction from the seraglio and the wedding of Figaro. The score was found around 1850 by someone close to Jacques Offenbach and a French libretto was rewritten to make the story more theatrical by Mr Wilder. All the music is by Mozart, only the libretto has been reworked to make the work compatible with the theatre.
