ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The 2025 Program – An Invitation to Dance – and a Homage to Johann Strauss!
Under the artistic direction of Maestro Karel Mark Chichon, the 2025 program promises once again great emotions. Together with the Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra and a selection of top international guests, an evening will be created that invites you to dream and marvel under the open sky.
“Dance has always been an expression of joie de vivre and culture – and no one has embodied it musically as masterfully as Johann Strauss. His 200th birthday is a wonderful occasion to give this art form a musical stage in all its diversity,” says Karel Mark Chichon.
Personal Premiere for Elīna Garanča
Elīna Garanča opens her performance with “La luce langue” from Verdi’s Macbeth – an intense, dramatic portrait of female power and the depths of the universe, which she will present for the first time in Göttweig and Kitzbühel. Together with Iulia Maria Dan, Kang Wang, and this year’s Future Voice Maja Triler, they create an evening that takes the audience on a musical journey through styles, eras, and emotions. Spanning French waltzes, opera arias, South American rhythms, and Straussian sounds, the soundscape invites you to dance and dream with every note.
For the finale, the audience can once again expect a thrilling medley of all the evening’s stars – a firework display of voices, temperaments, and melodies.
