According to the plot of the opera legend, the warriors of Samarkand Emir Tamerlan after the capture of the Great Bolgar seized 12 beauties, one of which – the daughter of the Bolgarian Khan. Warriors should take her to Tamerlane as a concubine, but can not find out who of the captives is Khan’s daughter. The girls are subjected to various ordeals, but the faithful friends of the khan’s daughter do not betray her and mislead by all means the warriors Tamerlan. However, someone informs that Khan’s daughter does not burn in the fire. Nuker of Samarkand Emir orders to bring all the girls in the stone chamber, lined with wood and set fire to it. Fire covers the chamber. After the fire, the door opens, and out of the building unharmed comes Khan’s daughter …
The main action of the play revolves around a central element of the scene – the Black Chamber. It duplicates the same monument of Bulgarian architecture, which is located in Bulgaria.
