ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The concert will feature Flórez alongside the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di
Bologna and the Coro del Teatro Ventidio Basso, conducted by Iván López –
Reynoso. The programme includes works by Gioachino Rossini, Jules Massenet,
Charles Gounod, Jacques Offenbach and Gaetano Donizetti.
The Rossini programme will include the Recitative “Oh come il fosco impetuoso
nembo” and Giocondo’s aria “Quell’alme pupille” from La pietra del paragone ; the
Overture and Ramiro’s aria “Sì, ritrovarla io giuro” from La Cenerentola ; the
Finale: Ballo from Il viaggio a Reims ; and the Récitatif “Ne m’abandonne point,
espoir de la vengeance !” and Arnold’s Air “Asile héréditaire” from Guillaume
Tell .
The programme continues with Massenet’s Récitatif “Ah ! Tout est bien fini !” and
Rodrigue’s Air “Ô souverain, ô juge, ô père” from Le Cid followed by Gounod’s
Récitatif “Quel trouble inconnu me pénètre ?” and Faust’s Cavatine “Salut !
demeure chaste et pure” from Faust .
The Offenbach selections features the Ouverture from Orphée aux enfers and
Hoffmann’s Chanson “Va pour Kleinzach !!” and Scène “Il était une fois à la cour
d’Eisenach !” from Les Contes d’Hoffmann . The concert conclude s with
Donizetti’s Ouverture and Tonio’s Air “Ah ! mes amis, quel jour de fête ! … Pour
mon âme” from La Fille du régiment .
