In a Viennese café setting, Jean-François Zygel shares “his” Schubert with us with the orchestra and choir of the Capitole de Toulouse: from the dramatic intensity of the “Unfinished Symphony” to the fervor of choral works, from its unforgettable melodies to the overwhelming intimacy of its chamber music, complemented by the improvisations of the famous pianist. Jean-François Zygel thus recreates the spirit of the “schubertiades”, these private evenings where his musician friends joyfully celebrated the freshly composed music of the young Viennese composer. A symphony orchestra, a large choir, two wonderful singers, a pianist, a quartet, an improvising pianist… all these fine people at the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse had to be there to pay homage to the brilliant Franz and introduce (or rediscover) the great known or secret pages of its repertoire
