ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
“Walk beyond me, infinite darkness of light “: so writes Rainer Maria Rilke in his collection of lyrics, inspired by the night and its angel and the beloved who never came. This is the inspiration for the opera composed by Adriano Guarnieri, which sees its world premiere at the Goldoni Theater under the direction of Giancarlo Cauteruccio. The composition stages four imaginary faces, poetic visions to tell the interiority of the human soul, which materialize and then disappear like dream images. The work does not follow a narrative plot, unfolding like a musical flow of actions of the spirit around the night-beloved-angel triptych. In this context, the song, now linear, now polyphonic, is full of μέλος, of continuous musical and literary ignitions: the vocality flows uninterrupted, without solutions of continuity, in a temporality that is not rhythmically identifiable to outline the drama of the human soul.
