  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

Igor Demchenko has been performing for many years in two roles – as a member of the brass section (trumpet) and as conductor of the Volgograd Academic Symphony Orchestra.

When Igor Demchenko takes the conductor’s stand, audiences know they will hear favorite compositions from various genres – from classical to rock. His new project, “Scores Don’t Burn. Music by Candlelight,” always sells out and is a true gift for music lovers. Preparing concert programs and musical fairy tales for children is the exclusive prerogative of conductor Demchenko. The musical illustrations he selected, set against the backdrop of the narrator’s narrative, help young listeners immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the fairy tale, understand the characters’ moods, and, most importantly, cultivate children’s artistic tastes through the finest examples of world musical culture.

On this festive occasion, the maestro will be honored by his colleagues and Philharmonic soloists. There will also be surprises. Few know that Igor Demchenko was his son Ivan’s first trumpet teacher. On the anniversary evening, Ivan Demchenko, a student at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, will present his musical gift to his father and the audience.
