  Il viaggio a Erialtorvo is a Rossinian-inspired comic opera set in an imaginary village in emptied Spain. After an unexpected interruption of his train journey, a group of passengers is stranded in Erialtorvo, a town forgotten by the time where only the innkeeper Berto, his wife Filomena and his son Tino live.

  What seemed like a simple wait soon turns into a succession of sentimental misunderstandings, unspeakable secrets and family entanglements. While the nonconformist Marina is caught between the attentions of two suitors, Edoardo tries to hide her true feelings behind a mask of hostility. His mother, Rosina, follows him obsessively to protect him, causing situations as absurd as it is endearing.
  For her part, Vittoria has a secret love that she fears to reveal, convinced that sincerity can put friendship and harmony of the group at risk. As forced coexistence in the inn brings to light desires, insecurities and misunderstandings, the characters are forced to confront themselves and others.

  Between unexpected statements, excessive jealousy, family reconciliations and a good dose of humor, Erialtorvo ends up becoming a place of transformation. What began as a railroad accident ends up being an inner journey for all its protagonists, who will discover that love, friendship and acceptance can appear precisely where they least are expected.
  With a satirical and contemporary tone, Il viaggio a Erialtorvo pays homage to the tradition of opera bufa while portraying, with tenderness and irony, the contradictions of our time and the ability of chance encounters to change the course of a life.
