Blessed with a ‘golden voice’, Jonathan Tetelman’s meteoric career has taken him to the world’s leading opera houses, while his records have picked up a succession of awards. We heard him alongside Elīna Garanča in 2021 at Müpa Budapest, and he has since become one of the most sought-after singers of Puccini. His partner, Carolina López Moreno, who exploded onto the international scene as Liù from Turandot, “portrays Puccini’s emotional depths and human tragedy with remarkable intensity and authenticity.” Essential Puccini, therefore: The two artists will perform excerpts from Madama Butterfly, as well as parts of the equally unmissable works of the late Romantic-verista greats Verdi, Ponchielli and Cilea. The Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Gianluca Marcianò, who is also at home in the world of the theatre. Compulsory for all lovers of Italian opera.
