ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The Baltic Sea Festival ended with a grand concert that featured Richard Strauss’s powerful farewell, “Vier letzte Lieder”. The songs were performed by the acclaimed soprano Asmik Grigorian – one of the opera world’s brightest stars right now. The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen and the concert opened with “Flügel”, a newly written work by the internationally successful composer Lisa Streich. Also on stage were court singer Karl-Magnus Fredriksson and the Opera’s director Birgitta Svendén. The recording was made in Berwaldhallen in Stockholm on September 7.
