Ravello , the most suggestive place on the Amalfi Coast and City of Music par excellence, for eleven years it has hosted one of the most prestigious International Opera Singing Competitions in the Italian and foreign music scene, a real springboard for young talents who are numerous and from all over the world (Japan, China, Korea, Australia, United States, Canada, South America, Russia, Europe) populate the town of music for four days, competing for the coveted title through three rigorous selections (preliminary, semi-final and final). The event has reached high artistic levels thanks to the involvement of authoritative personalities from the classical music scene: internationally renowned orchestra conductors, superintendents and artistic directors of the most prestigious opera-symphonic theaters and European festivals, musicologists of the caliber of Roman Vlad ,Leone Magiera , Piero Rattalino and Paolo Isotta, also boasting authoritative international presences such as: M° Placido Domingo Jr, M° Alexandra Haltoff, M°Josè Ferreira Lobo, M° Gudo Hasui, M° Petar Selem, M° Marco Ozbic, M° Eva Wagner, M° Alicja Wegorzewska The competition concludes with the Gran Gala della Lirica open to the large Italian and foreign public and music enthusiasts who follow the future darlings of the opera with great enthusiasm every year. In addition to the prizes, to recognize the due resonance of the privileged relationship between Richard Wagner and Ravello, the Special Richard Wagner Prize is awarded every yearto a personality from the world of culture who popularized the work of the great German composer.
