OPERA THE HEROES
Set in Milan in March 1848, during the Austrian occupation of Lombardy, the work portrays the conflict between political loyalty and revolutionary ideals within the Dedomini family. Count Folco remains loyal to the invading government, while his sons join the fight for Italian liberation. In this context, a forbidden romance develops between Alessandra, the Count’s daughter, and the Austrian officer Max von Danka.
As popular revolt grows in the streets, Max is discovered among the revolutionaries and faces dilemmas between military duty and personal feelings. The tension culminates when Attendolo, Alessandra’s brother, is captured and sentenced to death under Max’s command, who hesitates to carry out his duty.
In the end, amidst the revolutionaries’ victory, the love between Max and Alessandra meets a tragic conclusion: both die during the final confrontation. The work ends with the symbolic image of…
