He is considered one of the greatest singers of the 20th century: Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his death, a concert in his honor was held at the Karlsruhe University of Music on May 18, 2022.
Lieder by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Wolf, and Robert and Clara Schumann were performed. Christiane Libor and Thomas Hampson opened the concert with three duets. Two young singers, Marie Seidler and Zhouhan Sun, also thrilled the audience. All were accompanied by Yuriko Watanabe and Hartmut Höll on the piano.
Between the songs, Hartmut Höll, Thomas Hampson, and Stephan Mösch shared their personal memories of their musical time together with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
At the end, all the singers and pianists returned to the stage to bring the evening to a memorable close with two songs by Brahms
