ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
The International Society of Mexican Art Values AC (SIVAM) was founded in February 1996 by a group of art and culture lovers, headed by the dream and dedication of Pepita Serrano.
It was in the summer of that same year when SIVAM began its activities, by summoning young opera singers to the First Latino Coexistence directed by the teacher Joan Dornemann, from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. This activity was repeated the following year, giving a group of 20 young singers the opportunity to work with teachers from the world’s great opera houses.
As a result of this effort, some of the young participants began to receive invitations to perform in prestigious theaters. This was the impetus necessary to start a permanent artistic training program called the Operatic Improvement Workshop.
Since then, year after year, SIVAM has had the privilege of supporting great artists who today stand out worldwide in their professional development, such as Olivia Gorra, Rolando Villazón , Jorge Lagunes, Arturo Chacón and María Katzarava , among many others.
