The tenor José Manuel Zapata brings humor to the Gala of the RTVE Orchestra and Choir with a show for the whole family that includes well-known works from the classical repertoire such as the overtures of La Gazza Ladra and Guillermo Tell, by Gioachino Rossini; pieces by Johann Strauss Jr., such as the Tritsch Tratsch polka, the Radetzky march and the waltz from The Bat; numbers from operas by Giuseppe Verdi such as the aria ‘La donna e mobile’ from ‘Rigoletto’, or the triumphal march from ‘Aida’; works by the romantic composers Robert Schumann (Ich Grolle Nicht) and Johannes Brahms (Gute Nacht); the Air from Suite number 3 by J. S. Bach or a fragment of Beethoven’s fifth symphony.
There will also be other well-known works such as the Neapolitan O sole mio by E. di Capua, and pieces from the world of pop, such as AC/DC’s Highway to Hell and even a Mozart-style version of La macarena, adapted by Juan Francisco Padilla.
