A concert dedicated to the Czech opera diva
With Eva Urbanová and guests performing, Conductor Robert Jindra
The opera company of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre had the honour to collaborate with Eva Urbanová during years 2011–2016. On the occasion of her 60th birthday, the theatre dedicates the gala concert to the impressive Czech soprano. The opera orchestra of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre will be led by Robert Jindra who occupied the position of Musical Director of Opera at that time (2010–2015).
By means of its programme, the concert brings back the most significant roles that Eva Urbanová portrayed for the Ostrava’s opera and that may not be forgotten. These are La Wally in the opera of the same name (2012–2013), Ortrud in Lohengrin (2013), Emilia Marty in semi-staged The Makropulos Affair (2012/2013), Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier (2015–2017), and particularly the role of Kostelnička Buryjovka in Jenůfa (2011–2014). The programme consists of two parts from which the first one offers the most important arias from the above-mentioned operas while the second one belongs to the second act of Jenůfa.
