Beside the Overtures to Il barbiere di Siviglia and Guillaume Tell, the programme offers selections from some of the most famous Rossini operas: Figaro’s cavatina “Largo al factotum” and the arias for Bartolo (“A un dottor della mia sorte”) and the Count (“Cessa di più resistere”) from Il barbiere di Siviglia; the scena “Di che son reo?” and the duet between the Conte di Libenskof and the Marchesa Melibea “D’alma celeste, oh Dio!” from Il viaggio a Reims; the arias for Don Magnifico (“Sia qualunque delle figlie”) and for Don Ramiro (“Sì, ritrovarla io giuro”) from La Cenerentola; the Trio for Elvira, Zulma and Lindoro “Pria di dividerci da voi signore” from the first act Finale in L’Italiana in Algeri; Pirro’s cavatina “Balena in man del figlio” and the prima donna’s great scene “Essa corre al trionfo!” from Ermione; the Duet for Tell and Arnold “Où vas tu?
