Fifty-five years after the last Vienna State Opera premiere of Beethoven’s Fidelio (in its final version), a new production of the opera will be staged at the Vienna State Opera in 2025.
The introductory matinee, moderated by State Opera Director Bogdan Roščić, will feature numerous participants from the premiere, including conductor Franz Welser-Möst, director Nikolaus Habjan, Malin Byström, David Butt Philip, and Tareq Nazmi. As with all Vienna State Opera matinees, musical performances will round off the morning.
