ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Puccini IOCAL and Cluster have added another international success to their rich artistic legacy. This time at the Teatro de la Ciudad in Monterrey, Mexico, where on Friday the 5th, in collaboration with the Mexican association “Sol Sonoro,” they inaugurated the Puccini Chamber Opera México, part of the first edition of Arte-Ficial, Festival of Arts and Technologies. The performance featured five contemporary chamber operas composed by Paola Piñeiro (Cuba), Gerardo Sauceda (Mexico), Girolamo Deraco (Italy), Eduardo Caballero (Mexico), and Fabio De Sanctis De Benedictis (Italy). The sustained applause at the end of the performance by the large audience for the composers and performers was noteworthy: soprano Aurora Gutiérrez, baritone Miguel Quiñones, the Q-Sion percussion ensemble, and director Alessandro j. Bianchi. This new collaboration brings the Puccini Chamber Opera Festival, organized annually in the spring by the two Lucca associations at the Teatro di San Girolamo in collaboration with the Teatro del Giglio, to create new international links that allow the now established format of chamber opera to be performed worldwide in the name of Giacomo Puccini. Of note is the program for 2026, created in collaboration with Eduardo Caballero (president of Sol Sonoro) and Eusebio Sanchez (director of the Q-Sion percussion ensemble).Quoted from cronacadilucca.it
