ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
Felicidad is a chamber opera based on “Mujeres desesperadas” by Samanta Schweblin. The work unfolds as a field of states where voice, language, and sound intersect around an experience of rupture: after being abandoned on a desolate road, Felicidad enters a territory inhabited by other women sharing a similar fate.
Rather than following a linear narrative, the opera is structured as a series of “windows of states,” moving through denial, memory, and fractured perception. The vocal writing explores the threshold between speech and singing, while instrumental, electroacoustic, and spatial elements interact in a dynamic and unstable sonic environment. The space itself—premiered at the Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón—is conceived as an integral component of the work.
