Legendary Slovak Soprano, Edita Gruberova was born on December 23, 1946 in Bratislava,
then part of Czechoslovakia, and died on October 18, 2021 in Zurich, Switzerland.
A brilliant career, she conquered the world in a few years with unforgettable roles.
The beginning in life is difficult but that allowed her not to burn the steps and let hervoice develop at a reasonable pace, and to listen to her partners.
Throughout hercareer, Gruberova has worked with the most prestigious orchestra conductors: Karl Böhm, Sir Colin Davis,
Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Herbert von Karajan, Carlos Kleiber, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti and many more…
A fenomenal career:
Her first great triumph in 1976 with “Ariadne auf  Naxos” by Richard Strauss, the same year “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss,
1978 ” Lucia di Lammermoor” by Donizetti, “Rigoletto” by Verdi….
Triumph to triumph, she has appeared in many opera houses of Europe: the Vienna Opera, La Scala de Milan, the Bavarian Opera, the Zurich Opera, the Liceu de Barcelona and the Metropolitan Opera of New York.
She performed one last time on March 27, 2019, at the Bavarian Opera in the role of Elisabetta in “Roberto Devereux” by Donizetti, and one last concert at the Musikverein in Vienna.
In September 2020 she said goodbye to the stage, and announced the end of her career.
A magnificent voice: she enchants and fascinates with her powerful and flexible voice and a remarkable stage presence.

Légendaire soprano slovaque,Edita Gruberova est née le 23 décembre 1946 à Bratislava,
alors en Tchécoslovaquie,et morte le 18 octobre 2021 à Zurich, Suisse.
Une carrière brillante, elle a conquis le monde en quelques années, des rôles inoubliables.
Le début est difficile à vivre ce qui lui a permis de ne pas brûler les étapes et de laisser sa voix se développer au rythme raisonable, et d’être à l’écoute de ses partenaires.

Tout le long de sa carrière,Grubérova a travaillé avec les chefs- d’orchestre les plus prestigieux: Karl Böhm, Sir Colin Davis, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Herbert von Karajan, Carlos Kleiber, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti et bien d ‘autres…

Une ascension fulgurante;
son premier grand triomphe en 1976 avec “Ariane de Naxos” de Richard Strauss, la même année “Die Fledermaus” de Johann Strauss, 1978,”Lucia de Lammermoor” de Donizetti, “Rigoletto” de Verdi….
De triomphe en triomphe, elle s’est produite dans plusieurs opéras d’Europe, l ‘opéra de Vienne, La Scala de Milan, l ‘opéra de Bavière , l ‘opéra de Zurich,l a Liceu de Barcelone et la Metropolitan Opera de New York.
Elle s ‘est produite une dernière fois le 27 mars 2019 , à l ‘opéra de Bavière dans le rôle d’Elisabetta “Roberto Devereux ” de Donizetti, et un dernier concert au Musikverein de Vienne.
En septembre 2020 elle fait ses adieux à la scène, et annonce la fin de sa carrière.
Un timbre de voix magnifique, elle enchante et fascine avec cette voix puissante et profonde et une présence sur scène remarquable.
Edita Gruberova entre dans la légende des géants de l’opéra.
Hommage à une Diva, à une Grande Dame, qui a profondément marqué l histoire de l’opéra pendant des décennies.
