Easter Oratorio (Kommt, eilet und laufet), BWV 249
Sir John Eliot Gardiner and The Constellation Choir & Orchestra (CCO) perform cantatas Bach composed for Easter Sunday and Monday, as well as a work that is considered unique among his church compositions, the grand Easter Oratorio. The Constellation Choir and Orchestra were founded in 2024 as part of the Springhead Constellation initiative to perform a repertoire that ranges from baroque to contemporary works. The sound and performance mode of the two ensembles are in accord with the style and technical finesse that as a musician Sir John Eliot Gardiner has emblematically represented for the past few decades, while they also explore new directions, boldly pushing the envelope of modern performing art. As a part of the Springhead Constellation, a vibrant collective of musical ensembles, creative artists and makers, CCO is committed to redefining 21st-century artistry.
