According to the Nobel Committee, Miguel de Cervantes’ “Don Quixote” is considered the most important novel in the history of literature! Whatever we think of such assessments, this work has in any case been an inexhaustible and overflowing source of inspiration for fine artists, writers, filmmakers and musicians since its publication in 1605.
Through vocal and instrumental compositions from the 17th and 18th centuries by composers George Philippe Telemann, Francesco Conti and Giovanni Ristori, the Batzdorf court band will immerse themselves in the fascinating dream worlds of the sad figure of “Don Quixote.”
