ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE
In a medieval city, while all the men are off to war under the leadership of a count (Noritake), the women gather together in response to a call from the countess (Yusa) and come up with a plan. They plan to use the power of women to subjugate the men who are preoccupied with war and put an end to the war. Helene (Hagiwara), a newlywed who was married but sent her husband Astolph (Asaza) off to the battlefield without even having a wedding night, and the other women agree with the countess’ proposal, and vow to refuse to embrace, or even kiss, the men until they promise to “renounce war and cherish their families.”
Udrin (Ishida), a page who had returned home before the men’s return, finds out about the women’s plan. His girlfriend Izera (Tokioka), who is engaged to be married upon their return, asks him to cooperate with the plan, but Udrin reports it to the Count. When the Count finds out about the women’s plan, he decides to ignore the women even more coldly than they are when they meet again, in order to counter the sex strike plan. The men cheer in hopes of victory.
When their anticipated wedding is postponed due to the feuding Count and Countess, Izera and Udrin rack their brains for a way to end this “heartbreaking war.”
