The Volksoper is considered the most Viennese opera house in the city. So it is not surprising that Johann Strauss’s masterpiece is part of the family silverware here. No work has ever been played more often at the Volksoper. Starting this season, a female bailiff provides Frosch with a fresh look at a well-known play. This also applies to the New Year’s Eve performance, which has as much tradition at the Volksoper as the work itself.
The Austrian actress Stefanie Reinsperger – celebrated as a Buhlschaft on the Salzburg Cathedral Square as well as a commissioner in the crime scene, as a book author as successful as on the big stages – on the Volksoper stage as Lieselotte Frosch
