This is not the real Fall’s operetta, it’s a horrible way to transfer it to television arranging the extraordinarily beautiful original orchestrations into something to be forgotten at once … if you love operettas as they were created by their authors, the only way in fact to love this charming theatre. Leo Fall was one of the best composers in this field. The german television has made so many sins towards operettas, and this is one of the worst.
THIS IS A REAL OFFENCE TO THE ORIGINAL OPERETTA AND THE EXTRAORDINARILY BEAUTIFUL MUSIC OF LEO FALL IS RE-ORCHESTRATED WHICH MEANS THAT THOSE TV PEOPLE ARE THE GREATEST ENNEMIES OF OPERETTAS. THIS PRODUCTION HAS ONLY ONE PLACE: THE GARBAGE CAN.
