A concert from Skagen with music by Hugo Alfvén. The music is dedicated to some of the women who have meant the most in Hugo Alfvén’s life; mother Lotten, mistress Bertha and wives Marie and Karin. Anne Sofie von Otter sings songs about black love and hot passion and Bengt Forsberg composes on the artist PS Kröyer’s grand piano from 1850.

A drama documentary about the composer Hugo Alfvén, the music and the love for women. The story is based on Hugo Alfvén’s autobiography and original letters from three of the women in his life: mother Lotten, sculptor Alice Nordin and wife Marie Kröyer, born Triepcke. Music from “En Skärgårdssägen”, symphony no. 3 in E major (1905-06), “Midsummer vigil”, “Violin sonata opus 1”, “Maria’s songs” etc. Participants: Krister Henriksson, Kirsten Olesen, Anita Björk, and others. Co-production with Danmarks Radio and Finnish Swedish Television.
