ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS PERFORMANCE

This is not the 1973 performance from the Aldeburgh Festival. This is a completely new movie filmed mostly on location in Venice, by Tony Palmer in 1980 using some of the same cast as in the 1973 premiere, but with a different tenor singing Aschenbach, and a different dancer portraying Tadzio. And Palmer makes 8 significant cuts in the score.
