Daphne is a 25-minute monodrama written for coloratura soprano Sara Paar, inspired by the #MeToo movement’s surge in public consciousness in 2017, and based on the Greek myth of Daphne, the nymph who was pursued by Apollo and turned into a tree in order to escape him.
